Introductory price £5

8th June 4pm - 5.30pm

Klimt was responsible for the Art Nouveau movement and his luminous and opulent painting style makes it perfect for children to enjoy. Children will  learn his motivations, use his techniques and colorful, glittering palette in this workshop to create their own decorative, luminous painting.

The Tree of life is an important symbol used by many theologies, philosophies and mythologies. It signifies the connection between heaven and earth and the underworld, and the same concept is illustrated by Gustav Klimt's famous mural, The Tree of Life. For Klimt's admirers, the mural also has another significance, being the only landscape created by the artist during his golden period. We will be looking at his use of patterns which are vibrant, bold, intense and colour filled, we will focus on the infinite possibilities available to us and be inspired by the uniqueness of his work that continues to inspire.

Klimt used oil painting techniques with gold paint, to create luxurious art pieces, we shall use a rich acrylic colour palette for our own rendition!
